Recruiting – Leadership Coach

As we announce the exciting expansion of our DevelopMentor programme, we are seeking one or more highly effective leadership coaches to play a crucial role in supporting line managers to help their young apprentices to thrive.

  • Leadership coach/es
  • £55,000 p.a., pro rata for the hours worked and the duration of the contract. Whilst our preference is for this to be on an employed basis, we will consider the equivalent payment rate on a self-employed contracted basis with successful candidate(s).
  • Fixed term from September 2026 to May 2027
  • We are seeking to recruit to cover a total of 4.5 days coaching per week, or an equivalent number of hours across one or more post holders. We therefore welcome interest from applicants wishing to work 2+ days per week, during standard office hours. A typical day is expected to be defined as three one-hour coaching conversations and prep/admin time.
  • Requests for part-time or flexible working arrangements are welcomed
  • Closing date: Wednesday 1st July, 9am (interviews will be held on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July)

We are seeking one or more highly effective leadership coaches, to play a crucial role in the forthcoming Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) of our DevelopMentor programme. The post holder(s) will play a significant role in supporting young people from disadvantaged and marginalised communities to take their first steps in work by building the capability of their line managers. This is a great opportunity to bring your coaching skills to a wide variety of line managers within SMEs, helping them in turn to support their young apprentices.

To achieve this, you’ll be a qualified coach (to at least Level 3 or equivalent), with specific experience of coaching line managers. Whilst you’ll work as part of the Workwhile team delivering the DevelopMentor trial, you will need to work independently to confidently manage your coaching load: planning for sessions, carrying out the coaching remotely, and keeping accurate records of completion on Workwhile’s platforms.

This is a unique chance to contribute your coaching expertise to an exciting RCT which will generate unique evidence, and to work with a talented and committed team. We bring a wide range of previous experience to our roles, and we’re all committed to diversity, inclusion and social mobility.
